a love letter
Some projects exist outside of assignment briefs and creative prompts, and this short film is one of them. It was made simply because I did not know how else to express what my dog has meant to me. She came into my life and genuinely changed it, shifting the way I think about my own mental and physical health in ways I did not expect. Caring for her taught me that taking care of myself was not optional; it was necessary, and that realization has stayed with me in everything I do. The film became the vessel for that gratitude, accompanied by a poem I wrote for her that tries to put into words something that mostly lives beyond them. Every detail was made intentional, including the font used throughout, which is my own handwriting, because a film this personal deserved a visual language that was equally so. It is a quiet project, but I hope my love for her is louder than ever.
